What to bring to the lan party

• Computer with ethernet card installed.
• 25 feet of cat-5 network cable
• Power strip. Don't leave home without it! We will give you only 1 outlet for all your stuff.
• Headphones (with extension cord, if needed). Speakers are not permitted.
• Game CDs, Operating system CD, and driver disks (just in case!)
• Spending money. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Hardware vendors will be on hand for your shopping convenience.
• Toothbrush/toothpaste.
• Sleeping gear (pillow, sleeping bag, blanket, air matress, etc)
• Servers are welcome, but they must go in the server area. Only one PC per person in permitted in the seating area.
• A release form signed by your parents if you are less than 18 and your parents will not be accompaning you to the event. Blank forms will be available at the door.

• Powered speakers, UPS, Backup systems (these drain too much power)
• Refrigerators, microwave ovens, or anything else that requires much electricity to operate.
• No Weapons. This should go without saying, but anyone who brings in knives, swords, guns (with or without a pemit), explosives, C4, tanks or other weapons, will be immediately bannished.

• If you arrive early (before 10am Saturday) please do not begin setting up your computer until a KILANFest staff member has told you that it is ok to do so. The power and network are not stable until the staff have completed their preparations.
• You will be assigned an outlet strip to plug into. Do not DAISY CHAIN power strips. All the plugs but 4 will be covered by duct tape. DO NOT REMOVE THE DUCT TAPE. It assures that the outlet strip is not overloaded.
• Plug your PC and monitor into YOUR surge protector, NOT into the KILANFest outlet strip. Nothing else that requires power is permitted (no powered speakers, lamps, etc.). Then plug YOUR surge protector into the KILANFest power strip.
• If you have a second PC it must go in the server area. If you can bring a KVM switch in the server area please do so. It will help conserve space and power consumption on server row. Thanks!
